Q: How much preparation time will it take before I can leave?
A: The sooner you register with us, the better. Sometimes it takes a few weeks to arrange a placement and in some cases a few months. Besides the actual placement, there are always things that will slow down the process. We therefore advise you to register with us 4 to 5 months befor you want to leave. So remember, the sooner the better!
Q: If I register now, how long will it take before I get the first placement offer?
A: Usually we offer you a placement within four weeks. This of course depends on your requirements and study.
Q: What kind of internships can uGO! offer me?
A: We offer work experience, duo, social, and research internships. Do you want a different kind of internship? Please contact one of uGO! staff and ask for the possibilities!
Q: I am a graduate but would still like to do an internship abroad, is this possible?
A: Yes, if you want to do an internship in Australia, you need to be under the age of 30 and have the right visa. For the USA, there is no age limit, you just need the right visa.
Q: What is the minimum and maximum during of an internship?
A: We offer internships from 4 weeks up to a year.
Q: How likely is it that I will get some sort of compensation or salary?
A: The chances of getting compensation or salary are not very big. In the USA and Australia, internships are seen as a sort of service for the student. The company helps you with your career and invests time in you.
Q: What happens if I do not like my internship or the work is below my level?
A: Although this almost never occurs, it may be that you do not like your internship or that the work is below your level. Make sure you report to your supervisor and to us as soon as possible. In most cases, we will arrange a new placement for you within two weeks and help you on your way.
Q: Can you guarantee me an internship after I register?
A: Unfortunately we cannot guarantee you an internship but we will always be 100% committed! The chances of finding you an internship are very high but if we do not find an internship, we will refund anything you have already paid us. So our services are always worth a try!
Q: Can I apply for a job during the internship period to earn some extra cash?
A: In Australia and New Zealand you may but only if you are in possession of a Work & Holiday Visa. But be aware, there are some rules regarding this visa so always check if your obeying them. In the USA it is prohibited to have a job besides your internship. |
